Father, daughter killed in Narathiwat school blast

A Muslim father taking his five-year-old daughter to school in Narathiwat were killed along with her when Muslim insurgents detonated a homemade bomb hidden in a garbage bin in front of the school Tuesday morning.

Four policemen and four civilians were also injured the explosion that happened in front of the Taba School in Narathiwat’s Tak Bai district at 8:25 am.
The blast happened while police were directing traffic in front of the school.
Mayeng Wohba and his daughter Mitra Wohba were killed at the scene.
The eight injured victims were identified as Pol Sub-Lt Prapit Boonsang, Pol Sen Sgt Maj Kittipong Srikham, Pol Lance Corpl Taofik Arong, Pol Lance Corpl Wannuchit Saekhor, Noo-inee Yusoh, 25, Talmisi Da-oh, 23, Rassadee Mah-ae, 22, and Kusimah Kuma, 40.
The Internal Security Operations Command Region 4 condemned the Muslim insurgents for launching a bomb attack in front of the school.
Col Pramote Prom-in, the spokesman of the ISOC Region 4’s Forward Command, said the attack was inhumane because it killed a girl as young as five years old.
Pramote said the insurgents had never taken into account that their attacks would injure and kill innocent people.
