Police object to bail for suspects in Lao murders

Police also sent a letter via the Laos Consulate General in Khon Kaen to ask for help from Laotian police in arresting the influential Laotian woman identified only as “Nang” who allegedly hired the Thai gang to kill the victims for some Bt400,000, Kalasin police chief Pol Maj-General Apichit Thianphermpoon said.
Suspects Chalermpong Chaisawai, 32; Okart Tangjaimandeekul, 36; Thongchai Teechandramat, 24; Punnapop Phusil-ataen, 53; and Kulnant Saengsopon, 37, face charges of premeditated murder and disposing of the bodies in a forest in Kuchinarai district to conceal the crime.
Chalermpong, Thongchai and Punnapop confessed to the crime and participated in a re-enactment, but alleged shooter Okart and wife Kulnant maintained their innocence. Both victims were shot in the head.
