Kasetsart student denies he was forced to jump

The freshman who nearly drowned on Friday said nobody forced him to jump into a pond on the campus of his university.

Chokchai Thongnuakhao, 19, spoke to the media yesterday for the first time since the incident.
“I am not angry at anyone. We were all participating in activities and I just happened to develop cramps,” he said. “I called for help and my seniors immediately jumped in.”
Chokchai, who enrolled in the International Maritime College programme at Kasetsart University’s Sri Racha campus, said he would not be lodging any complaints over the incident.
“Once I recover, I will return to my studies at the university,” he said.
Although he is still in the intensive care unit of Chon Buri Hospital, Chokchai is making a good recovery, no longer needs to be hooked up to a respirator, and can sit up and eat by himself.
