Trang deputy governor questions appointment of ‘juniors’ to governor

The deputy governor of Trang province, Sayan Intarapak, has lodged another complaint about the appointment of new provincial governors.

The complaint was submitted to Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha, who also leads the National Council for Peace and Order.
Earlier, Sayan had lodged complaints with Interior Minister Anupong Paochinda, the ministry’s permanent secretary Grisada Boonracha and the Office of His Majesty’s Principal Private Secretary.
Sayan said he had served as deputy governor for more than eight years, but he was passed over during recent gubernatorial appointments, which promoted deputy governors who had only held the job for one or two years.
“I would like to call for a review or at least an explanation why junior officials are being considered more suitable for the post,” he said.
