Thailand ranks third among six rated Asean countries and 24th globally in HSBC's 2016 Expat Explorer league table of 45 host countries.
The table presents the best countries for expats to live and work. Thailand drops three places from the 2015 survey.
The survey was completed by some 26,870 expats from 190 countries through an online questionnaire in March and April 2016.
In Southeast Asia, topping the chart is Singapore, first in the global ranking in both two years. Thailand is also trailing behind Vietnam and followed by Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Thailand.
One expat says: "If you live in Bangkok, it's easy to find things that are familiar including foods and personal care products. However, if you're going to be in a village setting, prepare yourself."
