Suspects for blasts on Mothers’ Day face additional charge

Suspects for blasts on Mothers’ Day face additional charge

THREE men sought in relation to the August 12 bombings in Hua Hin will also face a charge of “conspiring for attempted murder” to offences they already face, deputy national police chief Pol General Srivara Rangsipramanakul said yesterday.

Srivara, who led the investigation into the spate of bomb and arson attacks on August 11 and 12 in seven provinces popular with tourists, submitted a request for the additional charge to the 15th Military Circle Court in Phetchaburi province yesterday.
Hua Hin bombing suspects Russaran Baima, 36, from Songkhla’s Thepha district; Asmin Katemmadee, 29, from Pattani’s Muang district; and Seri Waemamu, 31, also from Thepha district, already face charges of conspiring to damage others’ properties, possessing and using war-grade explosives and racketeering.
Srivara said police are integrating with related agencies to hunt for the fugitives, while also beefing up security measures to prevent future attacks, so the public should not be worried.
Up to seven men are wanted for the attacks on August 11 and 12, which killed four people and injured more than 30. Aside from these three, Sukiman Kubaru is wanted for a fire-bomb in Phang-Nga, Ahama Lengha is sought for a bombing in Phuket and Hakeem Doloh wanted for a bomb in Nakhon Si Thammarat. Trang arson suspect Abdul-Kadae Salae is the only person in custody so far.
