Florida woman becomes first US victim as hurricane blocks rescue
MIAMI - One person has died from cardiac arrest in Florida as Hurricane Matthew lashed the coast, fire officials said Friday, marking the first known fatality in the United States from the Category 3 storm.
A woman in her 50s suffered a medical emergency in her home in central Florida's St. Lucie County, but high winds prevented fire officials from responding and she died of cardiac arrest, a fire spokeswoman told AFP.
