4th homeless victim slain at Lat Phrao

4th homeless victim slain at Lat Phrao

THE brutal murder of a homeless woman found yesterday at the Lat Phrao Intersection was likened by police to the recent slayings of three homeless men in Pathum Thani.

The body of the unidentified woman was lying in a makeshift shelter under a U-turn overpass at about |1pm.
A forensic doctor at Police General Hospital said she might have been dead for three or four days.
She had been hit in the head and stabbed in the body five times. Her left hand was tied with a rope.
A nine-inch knife was found at the scene along with a bloodstained concrete slab and orange trousers under her body.
Pol Lt Colonel Chaliang Intip, deputy crime inspector at Phaholyothin Police Station, said the woman had been living under the bridge for months and was known to have a mental disorder.
She had been collecting recyclable garbage to sell, he said.

Myanmar suspect
Chaliang said his police station would coordinate with the Pratunam Chulalongkorn Police Station in Pathum Thani for any useful information about the Myanmar suspect arrested on Friday.
The 20-year-old man, identified only as Bung or Jimmy, will undergo a psychiatric examination to determine if he is mentally ill, Pol Lt General Sanit Mahathaworn, commissioner of Metropolitan Police, has said.
Police said Bung admitted to being the person captured in surveillance footage near the scene of one of the murders in Pathum Thani, but denied killing anyone.
He was detained at Kamphaeng Phet Road in Chatuchak district and gave confusing testimony to police during interrogation that lasted for a number of hours, Sanit said.
