His Majesty undergoes hemodialysis
His Majesty the King is undergoing hemodialysis to correct kidney-related issues, the Royal Household Bureau announced on Sunday.
Hemodialysis is a process of purifying the blood of a person whose kidneys do not function properly. Previously, doctors treated the world's longest reigning monarch with continuous renal replacement therapy, a typical treatment for patients with acute kidney injuries.
According to the Royal Household Bureau, His Majesty will remain under close medical supervision as his condition has not yet stabilised.
