People praying for HM the King to have good health

MANY people have posted “Long Live the King” messages on social media to show their concern for the much-beloved King Bhumibol Adulyadej following a worrying update on the world’s longest reigning monarch.

The messages have flooded Facebook and Twitter over the past two days, after the Royal Household Bureau released its latest statement on Sunday about the health of the the monarch, who is now 88.
According to the statement, a ventilator was used after the King’s blood |pressure dipped following procedures to prepare him for long-term hemodialysis treatment and to change a tube that drains fluid from his spine.
“The medical team are watching his symptoms and giving treatments carefully because the overall symptoms of his sickness are still not stable,” it said.
Facebook user Taum Kraipibullaya said he would like to dedicate the merit from his good deeds both in his current life and past lives to His Majesty the King. “May the sacred Triple Gems bless His Majesty with a quick recovery,” he said.
Social media users have also posted prayers and called on everyone to pray for His Majesty to have good health.
Throughout his seven-decade-long reign, the King has devoted himself to his people and country. To Thais, he is the much-revered paternal figure and soul of the nation.
In recent years, His Majesty has spent much of his time at Siriraj Hospital, where he has been receiving treatment for health conditions.
But he has not been seen in public for nearly a year now. And his health has been a subject of great concern for Thais.
Kneeling before the statue of HRH Princess Sri Nagarindra, the Princess Mother, at Siriraj Hospital yesterday was a 54-year-old Bangkok resident. “I am praying that His Majesty will quickly recover from his illnesses,” she said.
The woman said she became so worried about the King after learning of the latest statement concerning his health.
“I have always prayed for their Majesties the King and the Queen,” she said.
Yesterday evening, many people had also gathered at temples to pray for their King.
