AIS providing free Wifi during the mourning ceremony for late King

Wilai Keangpradoo, senior vice president of public relations at Advanced Info Service Plc (AIS), said the company is providing extra network services and volunteer services in response to large crowds at Sanam Luang and the Grand Palace during the mourning ceremony for his His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej.

The services include free Wifi and phone services from two AIS booths located near the Ministry of Interior and the Metropolitan Electricity Authority.
The company has also installed an AIS Wifi network at Sanam Luang exclusively to support AIS customers’ high data-usage demand.
The company has also provided AIS mobile vans to service congested areas at Sanam Luang and increase the network capacity to as much as 500 per cent of normal.
AIS is also offering a free battery-charging service, available to everyone regardless of their mobile network, at two AIS booths located near the AIS mobile van.
The company is also providing free transportation for provincial and Bangkok residents who want to offer condolences to the late King at the Grand Palace. They can board an AIS-subsidised bus at any one of the following transit points: Mor Chit Bus Terminal, Sai Tai Mai (or the Southbound Bus Terminal), Ekkamai Bus Terminal and Hua Lumpong railway station.
The buses run daily from 6am until 8pm.
