Foreigners in Phang Nga cautioned to be respectful during national mourning

Handbooks on what clothes foreign tourists should wear and how they should behave during this time of national mourning have been provided at piers in the southern province of Phang Nga.

Raweewan Sangchan, chief of the Tourism Authority of Thailand’s Phang Nga Office, yesterday said all local tour guides had been informed in travel advisories to pass on the information.
Although foreigners are not required to wear black, they should wear respectful clothes and behave politely in public places.
All attractions in the province will remain open, while banks and public transport are operating normally. However all celebrations must be toned down out of respect for the late King, Raweewan said.
For more information, call the TAT hotline, 1672.
