JSCCIB, Shippers Council more optimistic on exports
THE JOINT Standing Committee on Commerce, Industry and Banking and the Thai National Shippers Council have revised up their export forecasts for this year after seeing stronger expansion in September.
The JSCCIB expects exports to decline more slowly than the previous forecast of a 0-2-per-cent contraction to a 0-1-per-cent drop this year.
It also expects exports next year to grow by 0-2 per cent, which is still slight, as global economic growth should remain fragile, particularly in Europe and China.
