GMM TV sacks TV host after caught on clip assaulting motorcyclist
GMM TV Co Ltd announced Monday it has sacked TV HOST Acharanat “Nott” Ariyaritwikol who sparked an uproar on the Internet after a clip of him furiously punching a motorcycle rider went viral on social media.
In its statement posted on its Facebook wall, GMM TV said it was sorry over the unacceptable act of the TV host.
GMM TV also realised that the action would be a bad example to youths while actors and TV hosts should have shown only good examples.
GMM TV said the company has a policy not to support an actor or TV host with inappropriate behaviors so it decide contrasts of Acharanat as an actor and TV host of the company with immediate effect.
The recorded clip shows Acharanat drag the motorcyclist, Kittisak Singto, by his sweater collar, after he accused Kittisak of scratching the back of his Mini Cooper car. The video shows the TV host punching him in the face a couple of times, and demanding that he prostrate himself before the car.
The incident took place on Friday in Bangkok’s Yannawa district.
