30,000 sing Royal Anthem in Kalasin finale

30,000 sing Royal Anthem in Kalasin finale

About 30,000 members of the public gathered yesterday to sing the Royal Anthem and “Tai Rom Phra Baramee Tee Kalasin” (Life in Kalasin under His Majesty’s Rule), the latter song having been written specially in the northeastern province of Kalasin for the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej.

The event, led by Kalasin Governor Natthapat Suwanpratheep, was held at the Lam Phayang Reservoir Royal Initiative site in Khao Wong district. The singers, many of whom broke into tears, also pledged to follow in His Majesty’s footsteps and apply the self-sufficiency economy in their daily lives.
The event was the final session of a provincial campaign encouraging the mass singing of the Royal Anthem. Four previous events were held this week at the Nong Lerng Peuy water retention project in Rong Kham district, the Phu Thai Ban Phon Cultural Centre in Kham Nong district, the Thep Suda Bridge in between Sahatsakhan and Nong Kung Si districts, and the Ponglang Yak roundabout in Muang district.
Natthapat said at least 150,000 people attended the five sessions, while photos and videos were also taken for a provincial project to make a music video for the song “Tai Rom Phra Baramee Tee Kalasin”.
