Councillor dies in plunge from Bangkok condo

Phetchabun provincial councillor Kasapong Chawansantati, 30, fell to his death from a condominium in Bangkok’s Sathorn district yesterday morning.

After the alarm was raised by security guards and Kasapong’s girlfriend, police found Kasapong’s body on the building’s ground-floor access road. There was no sign of a disturbance in the councillor’s 18th-floor apartment.
Pol Captain Apichai Seesang of Thung Makamek precinct said Kasapong’s girlfriend Patraya Kulchok-at, 31, told police that she and Kasapong had gone with friends to drink beer in Ekkamai before returning to the condominium, where they had moved in after a year together.
When she woke at 6.20am and couldn’t find him, she went downstairs and found him dead. 
Apichai said police suspect Kasapong accidentally fell off the balcony although they would |interview relatives, check the |autopsy report from Chulalongkorn Hospital and inspect CCTV |footage.
A source said Kasapong, son of former Phetchabun MP Narongkorn Chawansantati, completed his council term last year but still held the acting position, in accordance with an order from the National Council for Peace and Order.
