Pobtham wins 'Goal' project to train with Leicester City

Pobtham Wandee, a 14-year-old Prince Royal's College in Chiang Mai, was the winner of the "Goal," a project which helps Thai children make their dreams of sharpening skills with Leicester come true.

Pobtham will now obtain a chance to train at professional level with Leicester City FC in England for two and a half years. On Thursday, Pobtham received a huge Bt15-million scholarship from Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha, Leicester City vice chairman and Chief Executive Officer at King Power International.

Last year, Pobtham was one of the five winners to make a chance-of-a-lifetime trip to England to watch the match between Manchester United and Liverpool at Old Trafford as part of Chevrolet "Play for Dream" project.

Pobtham, nicknamed Phuphan, thanked everyone who helped make his dreams come true and said he will try to do his best while training with Leicester City out there.

"I would like to thank Khun Vichai and Khun Aiyawatt Srivadhanaprabha to offer an opportunity to a child who has a passion for football and badly needs to become a player. Much appreciation also goes to Coach Ziko (Kiatisuk Senamuang) and staff coaches who have trusted in me. I intend to obtain experience and exposure as much as possible. I will bring back not only football skill, but also sport science, education, language and culture for future use of next generation of Thai kids who want to become football players," he added.
