Queensland Dreamworld fun park reopens after tragic deaths

The Dreamworld fun park on Queensland's Gold Coast reopened Saturday, six weeks after the tragic deaths of four adults killed in an accident on one of the park's water rides.

Dozens of people queued up to be first through the gates with the park giving 25 Australian dollars (about 19 U.S. dollars) from each ticket to the Red Cross, Sky News reported. The park employs more than 1,000 people.

The major rollercoaster thrill rides are still closed and being examined by safety experts. The relatively mild Thunder River Rapids ride where the four people were killed when their raft tipped over has been decommissioned.
