Australian woman was not raped by tuktuk driver, claim police
A 21-year-old Australian tourist was mistaken when she said she was raped by a tuktuk driver at a parking lot in Bangkok, said Metropolitan Police commissioner Lt-General Sanit Mahathavorn.
Sanit Monday said CCTV footage identified a suspect, whom police had confirmed was not driving a tuktuk but a motorcycle.
It would take up to two days to confirm the suspect’s identity and the vehicle used because the footage was not clear, he said, adding that forensic results and the victim’s physical examination report would be sent to police Tuesday.
