Textbooks updated to add works of King Rama X
The Education Ministry is adding the royal work of HM King Maha Vajiralongkorn, also known as King Rama X, to the textbooks.
“We are updating textbooks so that they are ready for use in the next academic year,” the ministry’s permanent secretary Chaipreuk Sereerak said yesterday.
Content on the monarcy in textbooks needed updating as HM King Bhumibol Adulyadej passed away on October 13 this year, officials said.
“We will have to update the name and rankings of royals too,” he said.
Relevant authorities have already consulted experts about how best to update the content, he added.
Chaipreuk said he expected publishers to submit manuscripts of the updated textbooks before the end of next month.
“Schools can place purchase orders by February 15,” he said.
