Jatuporn expected to be released from hospital today

Red-shirt leader Jatuporn Promphan is expected to be discharged from hospital today after treatment for a urinary tract infection.

The Department of Corrections said the activist would undergo an X-ray examination today, and if no kidney stones or irregularities were found he would be returned to Bangkok Remand Prison.
The department said that he was in good health and he had no fever. His kidney function had returned to normal with no white blood cells appearing in his urine.
Jatuporn was admitted to the corrections department’s hospital a day before New Year’s Eve suffering from a high fever and dysuria.
According to a Corrections Department statement, he was examined on Monday and his kidneys were functioning normally and his body temperature was dropping.
The activist was imprisoned in October. The Court revoked his bail on a terrorism charge involving arson in 2010. It ruled that he had violated his bail conditions by defaming the current government. – The Nation
