The newly appointed national reform preparation committee chaired by two deputy prime ministers

Deputy Prime Minister ACM Prajin Juntong will share the chairmanship of the newly appointed national reform preparation committee with Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak, who is in charge of economic affairs.

Prajin said the committee’s framework would be discussed today with Suvit Maesincee, secretary of the umbrella committee of the government administration for reform, reconciliation and national strategy, before a consultation with the presidents of the National Legislative Assembly and the National Reform Steering Assembly (NRSA).
The final work will be forwarded to Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha for endorsement.
NRSA chair Tinnapan Nakata said the NRSA’s role would remain unchanged under the new structure, adding that it would act in an advisory role studying the country’s root problems and recommending solutions to the government for further deliberation and implementation.
