10 police exam cheating suspects arrested at cadet orientation

10 police exam cheating suspects arrested at cadet orientation

Ten suspects allegedly involved in cheating in a police entrance examination in December were arrested Tuesday morning as they attended cadet orientation at the Police Club on Bangkok's Vibhavadi Road.

The 10 men, accused of copying exam answers from others, were subject to an arrest warrant on charges of racketeering, giving false information to police and violation to the Computer Act's Article 14(2) by putting false information onto a computer, said Metropolitan Police Bureau commissioner Pol Lt General Sanit Mahathavorn.
Confirming that all those shown by evidence to have been involved in exam cheating would face prosecution, Sanit said police would deal with the successful candidates first as the police cadet class would start today. The suspects would be removed, leaving room for substitute candidates to fill in, he added.
