Most doubt reports of bids to kill PM, Prawit: survey

Most doubt reports of bids to kill PM, Prawit: survey

Most people are not convinced there have been attempts to try to assassinate Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha or his deputy Prawit Wongsuwan, a survey has found.

Almost 77 per cent of people surveyed by Suan Dusit Poll said they did not believe the reported threats, as they did not know the entire facts regarding the matter. They said that the reports could be an attempt to spread rumours for political purposes.
The remaining 23 per cent said they believed it was true, as it was not unusual for government leaders to get death threats from people adversely affected by their policies.
However, more than 52 per cent of respondents said rumours had often been spread with political motives.
The survey was conducted by Suan Dusit University on 1,187 people in all regions of the country from Monday to Friday.
