'Namtan' warms hearts on Valentine's Day at Government House
All at the Government House on Tuesday were treated with a special Valentine’s Day treat when Miss Thailand Universe 2016 Chalita “Namtan” Suansane paid a visit to Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha.
Chalita was brought to the House by Tourism and Sports Minister Korbkarn Wattanavrangkul for building good reputation to Thailand.
While her glowing sunkissed skin, gleeful poses and sophisticated gowns attracted internet sensation since early days of the contest, the blends of her friendly, down-to-earth and humble personality helped make her strike as high as the top 6.
“I’m glad to be a part of mutual love among Thai people,” she said after the meeting Prayut.
“As a presenter to Thailand, I was also asked [by Prayut] to promote morality in society,” she continued “People shouldn’t just be done with merit making ceremony,”
“He wished me to do my duties at best and stay focused at my study,” said Chalita, who is also a junior in microbiology at Mahasarakham University.
“He is nothing like I saw in TV. He was very cute in person,” she added, reserving her words and smiling.
On an occasion of the day of love, the two also exchanged gives with Chalita presenting the premier a bouquet of roses and a teddy bear of color brown, or “Namtan” in Thai, in similarity with her nickname.
