Thai exports could gain from Trump policies: UTCC
Thailand's exports to the United States could increase by Bt17.24 billion under US president Donald Trump's policies, while trade with China could shrink, according to a study by the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce (UTCC).
Aat Pisanwanich, director of the UTCC's Centre for International Trade Studies, said Thai exports to the US could increase due to the economic stimulation in the US. However, Thailand's trade will be indirectly impacted from higher tariffs on Chinese goods, while traders should beware of non-tariff barriers.
