Lottery ticket sales slump after fake warning
People appear to be paying attention to warnings of the spread of fake lottery tickets, with vendors in several provinces bemoaning a sharp drop in sales.
In Nakhon Ratchasima, the atmosphere on Jompol Road behind Thao Suranari Monument, where a host of shops sell lottery tickets, was less busy on Wednesday compared to previous months.
The vendors all said that there were less clients for the March 1 round of the lottery draw and half of the tickets they had were unsold.
They said the sharp fall in sales was due to a public fear of fake tickets following a series of arrests in other parts of the country over the past month.
