THAI contestant Jiratchaya “Mo” Sirimongkolnawin has been crowned Miss International Queen 2016 at a contest billed as the world’s largest and most popular transgender pageant.

The 25-year-old design student beat 24 other contestants for the crown. Nathalie Oliveira of Brazil was the first runner-up and Andrea Collazo of Venezuela the second runner-up.

Jiratchaya added the crown to the Miss Tiffany’s Universe title she won last May.

The 2016 pageant, held on Friday night, was originally scheduled for last November but was postponed as Thailand was in mourning following King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s |passing the previous month.

In its 12th year, the contest was held at the Tiffany’s nightclub, famous for its transvestite cabaret, in the seaside resort town of Pattaya.
