Solution found to collecting Shinawatra taxes
An urgent meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Krea-ngam on the failure to collect tax from the family of ex-PM Thaksin Shinawatra has come up with a solution that should make the government happy.
Pol General Chaiya Siri-amphankul, secretary general of Anti-Money Laundering Office, said on Monday, he could not reveal the details of the meeting but what he can say is that the government will be happy with the solution."
The meeting was held after the Revenue Department admitted on Sunday that it was unlikely to collect taxes from the Shinawatraregarding their controversial sale of Shin Corp shares in 2006.
