Passenger van driver incinerated in crash
A passenger van driver was trapped inside his vehicle and burned alive when it crashed into a roadside tree in Suphan Buri province early Wednesday, police said.
The accident happened at about 1.45am on Suphan Buri-Chainat Road in Samchook district.
The passenger van was already engulfed in fire when firefighters arrived at the scene. The blaze was put out in 15 minutes.
The driver’s identity is unknown at this stage.
The van apparently hit a pole before crashing into the tree.
A local resident, Kranyarat Kanthalad, 17, heard a loud noise and found the van on fire.
Kranyarat called out to neighbours to help the driver, who had called for help. They tried to put out the fire but the blaze spread too fast, the teen said.
