Thunderstorms damage over 100 houses in Sukhothai
Thunderstorms unleashed strong winds and heavy rain that damaged more than 100 houses in Sukhothai’s Kong Krailas district on Monday night, the provincial administration announced on Tuesday.
The Sukhothai administration said the storms damaged home roofs in 15 villages in three tambons – Krang, Dong Duey and Tha Chanuan.
The storms also felled trees that blocked roads while trees fell onto power poles, knocking them over and causing blackouts throughout the night.
Arthit Thiwong, 35, a villager, said the storm that hit his tambon lasted about 20 minutes and his roof was blown away.
