Public forums on energy held to improve understanding : Government spokesman

Results from the public forum on the energy situation in thee South to be held today in three southern provinces will not be used in the Environmental and Health Impact Assessment of the proposed coal-fired power plant projects in the South.

Government spokesman Sansern Kaewkamnerd stated that the forums, which will be held in Surat Thani, Krabi and Songkhla, are aimed at imprroving and strenghening understanding of the energy situation in the region and discussing the energy problems of the country.
He said the government believes that if the people are well-informed, they can make their own decision in a correct way without being swayed by those who try to spread false information.
If these public forums are a success, the government will hold similar forums in other regions. The public forum will be broadcast live Public Relations Department's Facebook page.
