Cambodia bans breast milk export

Phnom Penh - The government of Cambodia officially banned a company’s export of breast milk from Cambodia to the United States, according to an official letter signed by a secretary of state of Council Minister today.

The letter signed by secretary of state of the Council Minister Ngo Hongly  informed the ministry of health to take action on all collecting and exporting breast milk from Cambodia.

“Even, Cambodia is poor, but not sells the mother’s breast milk”, the letter underlined.

This letter was issued after, ministry of health wrote a letter on March 24 requesting the approval for exporting breast milk from Cambodia to U.S. by Ambrosia Labs Co. Ltd, a company official register in Cambodia.

This request also rejected by Prime Minister Hun Sen at the same day.

According to Ambrosia Labs’ online sell promotion, the breast milk can be sold $ 195 per 10 boxes (a box=147 ml). This milk is safe.
