Land rights group demands PM take action over drug ‘frame’ attempt

A land rights group has called on the prime minister to take serious action against policemen who allegedly tried to frame its members in Trang for drug possession.

Members of the People’s Movement for a Just Society (P-move) gathered at Public Sector Development Commission Office opposite Government House on Thursday morning.
They alleged police planted the drugs in an effort to prevent P-move from gathering in Bangkok on Thursday to call on the government to respond to their myriad problems.
In a statement, the group said the alleged frame attempt was a serious crime against an innocent people.
It asked the PM to set up a joint committee consisting of authorities and the public to investigate and punish the officers.
It was reported on Wednesday that four plainclothes policemen dropped the amphetamine pills bag at P-move’s office in Trang and accused its members of drug possession, but the activists spotted the bag first and took picture evidence.
