PM transfers six provincial governors

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has issued a special order transferring with immediate effect six provincial governors to the Office of the Prime Minister.

As junta chief, General Prayut exercised his absolute power under Article 44 of the interim charter. The order was announced in the Royal Gazette on Tuesday night. 
The six who have been transferred are: Phuket Governor Chockchai Dejamornthan, Kanchanaburi Governor Sak Somboonto, Kalasin Governor Natthapat Suwanprateep, Chiang Rai Governor Boonsong Techamaneesathit, Ratchaburi Governor Surapol Sawaengsak, and Sing Buri Governor Pasin Komolwit.
They have been designated special inspector-general attached to the PM’s Office.
The order did not state any specific reason for their transfer but said it was aimed at dealing with the problem of state officials who are under investigation and to set up a temporary framework for human resources.
