Acting VPs at Mahidol University not to declare assets

The acting vice presidents of Mahidol University will not have to declare their assets, despite calls for transparency from various sides.

National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) president Pol General Watcharapol Prasarnrajkit said Wednesday that his agency would not require the acting vice presidents to submit assets declarations, because the law did not require them to.
Starting from April 3, amended laws stipulate that vice presidents of universities also have to declare their assets.
Before the laws took effect, however, 13 vice presidents of the Mahidol University resigned on March 31, raising public concerns they may have had something to hide.
After their resignation, all the 13 vice presidents were appointed acting vice presidents at the same university.
