Stolen pickup found abandoned in Yala
Police have opened an investigation after a black pickup was found abandoned on a road in Yala’s Bannang Sata district on Saturday night, amid suspicions that insurgents might have intended to use it as a vehicle bomb.
The driver of the pickup refused to stop at a checkpoint in the province on Saturday night, sped away, and left the pickup at a spot about five kilometres away.
Police have gathered fingerprints from the vehicle.
As of press time, it was confirmed that the pickup had been stolen from Yala’s Muang district on Friday night.
