A bus carrying Myanmar workers fell into a roadside ditch in Samut Sakhon’s Muang district on Sunday morning. Nineteen people, including the bus driver Sompong Yaiwan, suffered minor injuries.

“While I was driving on Rama II Road, I felt as if my bus had got into a hole and so I tried to steer my vehicle out. But I ended up losing control and the bus overturned and fell into the ditch,” Sompong said.

The accident took place at 4.30am just before the bus reached the passengers’ destination in the Mahachai area.

The passengers had just returned from their Songkran holidays and the bus had picked them up from the border province of Tak.
