Anusawn gets official warning from NRSA for assault on waiter

Anusawn Chiraponse, a member of the National Reform Steering Assembly (NRSA), was given an official warning from the body on Monday after it had convened to consider his alleged violation of its ethical codes of conduct following a physical assault on a restaurant waiter last month.

Anusawn was reportedly unhappy when called “Pa” by the waiter, and responded by knuckling him on the head in return.
“Pa” carries some negative meaning in Thai, as it is generally perceived as an old man who loves spending money on entertainment for personal pleasure.
The NRSA’s ethics panel investigated his action, and concluded that he had breached its codes of conduct.
However, it said that the act was deemed to be minor and should carry a penalty equivalent to the issuance of an official warning.
The NRSA meeting voted 93:54 in favour of the panel’s finding that the infringement was minor, and 107:38 in favour of the appropriate penalty.
