King gives scholarships to children of flood victims in the South

HIS MAJESTY King Maha Vajiralongkorn, through his concern for children whose |parents died during the recent floods in the South, has provided them with scholarships and wished them to be hard-working students and good persons.

Privy Councillor General Dapong Ratanasuwan was speaking about the King’s deeds in Songkhla to a group of students who received scholarships on April 20.
His Majesty donated a Bt40 million fund to help people in 12 flood-affected provinces – Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Songkhla, Pattani, Narathiwat, Trang, Surat Thani, Phatthalung, Krabi, Yala and Satun.
The money is from the proceeds of the sale of greeting cards drawn by the King and a diary designed by him to help flood victims. 
Four greeting cards drawn by the King sold in Bt90 sets, while the diary sold for Bt199. The cards and diaries were sold at the Grand Palace, the Golden Place, 904 welfare shops, the Suksamran bicycle shop and |Nai In bookstores.
Of the sum, Bt15 million was given as scholarships for children whose parents were killed in the floods.
The donation is also being used to buy educational materials including tables and chairs for 267 schools affected by the floods.
The King has donated the financial |assistance since December last year and will continue to help.
