Russian couple fined for indecent act in tuk tuk
Police have fined a couple from Russian Bt500 each after a video went viral of them appearing to have sex in the back of a tuk tuk in Phuket.
The 28-second clip was posted on Friday and shows a man and a woman moving suggestively in the tuk tuk with the woman’s shirt lifted to expose her breasts.
The tuk tuk was being driven on a road in tambon Karon, Muang district.
Karon police investigated and found the tuk tuk driver who said he was hired to deliver the tourists to a hotel in tambon Wichit.
The driver said the two tourists were not having sex but they were simply rocking their bodies to the music he was playing.
On Sunday, tourist police located the couple and fined them for conducting an indecent act in public, Pol Lt-Colonel Naruewat Putthawiso, a tourist officer in Phuket, said.
Naruewat said the man is 33 years old and the woman is 21. The officer declined to name them.
Naruewat said the couple insisted they had not had sex in the vehicle but had simply moved their bodies to the music.
