Source of fake tour-guide licences uncovered
A large number of fake licences for tourist guides was confiscated in a police raid on a private apartment in Bangkok’s Nhong Kham district on Thursday.
Tourist Police Deputy Commander Pol Col Artchayon Kraithongled said the raid was planned after it was learned that the tenant was forging the fake certificates.
A university student was arrested and confessed to being paid to counterfeit different kinds of certification, including driving licences and tour guide licences, Artchayon said.
The investigation is proceeding in the belief that other people are involved in the operation, which the deputy commander said could affect national security.
