121,000 register for welfare benefits in Nong Bua Lamphu
With the government’s programme of registering low-income citizens for welfare benefits due to end on Monday, Nong Bua Lamphu province announced on Friday that 121,391 people successfully registered for the scheme between April 3 and May 11.
Applicants were required to open a savings account at one of the three banks – the Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives, the Government Savings Bank and Krung Thai Bank –to qualify for government welfare.
The province saw 79,063 registered at the BAAC, 31,173 at the GSB and 9,344 at Krung Thai. Another 1,811 people registered for the programme with the provincial office of the Finance Ministry.
