Third wife arrested after caring for children of American’s two previous wives

Police have arrested a woman after she and her American husband took three children born to his two previous Thai wives to be placed under her care.

Pattaya police chief Pol Col Apichai Kobphet announced the arrest of Kesaree Weeranakhin, 27, a resident of Nakhon Sawan, at 10am on Saturday.
She has been arrested earlier in Hua Hin under an arrest warrant issued by Pattaya Court. The husband, David Tomberline, has returned to the United States.
Tomberline’s two previous wives, Bussara Pitiwong, a Phayao resident, and Uraiwan Khosi, from Si Sa Ket, earlier filed complaints with Pattaya police against Kesaree and Tomberline.
Three months ago, Tomberline and Kesaree took Bussara’s son, Robert Guy, 6, and Uraiwan’s two daughters – Kristine, 6, and one-year-old Emily – from their houses to be cared for by Kesaree in Pattaya.
Kesaree later took the three children to live in Hua Hin.
Bussara and Uraiwan told the press conference that they were very happy to get their children back.
Kesaree admitted that she accompanied Tomberline to take the three children from their mothers three months ago because the American insisted he had the rights to take care of the children.
Kesaree said her husband knew about her arrest would provide legal assistance because she was just complying with his wish.
