Group Lease sees 47% jump in Q1 earnings
Group Lease has reported a net profit of Bt327.36 million for the first quarter, up 47.35 per cent from the same period last year, on the back of improved performance in Thailand and most of the other regional markets in which the group operates.
Tatsuya Konoshita, chairman of the listed company’s executive committee, said on Monday that the results could have been better if it had not been for the large investment expenses incurred to jump-start businesses in the two high-potential markets of Indonesia and Myanmar.
“It was in the early phase and developmental stage of our ‘New Countries and New Products’ [plans], but our business operations in the quarter made historical high profits,” he added.
