Husband arrested for killing wife in apparent Russian Roulette game

A man has been arrested for allegedly shooting and killing his wife in what police believe was a game of Russian Roulette.

Pongrat Kijsunthorn, 29, was arrested at his house in Tambon Ban Paen in Ayutthaya’s Sena district after the Sena police station was alerted to a shooting incident at 1am on Thursday.
Police found the body of Nopparat Phrasena, 27, lying on the bed with a bullet wound in the middle of her forehead between her eyebrows.
A .22 revolver was found near the bed with one spent shell in the chamber.
Pol Lt Col Charnchai Songsiri, said that Pongrat claimed that he thought the revolver had no bullets and he and his wife took turns to tease each other by firing at each other’s forehead.
Pongrat said the gun belongs to his grandmother who lives in another house in the same compound.
He claimed he had emptied the chambers before he played with the gun.
Police found five more rounds of .22 ammunition in his grandmother’s house.
Charnchai said police suspect that Pongrat, who appeared under the influence of alcohol, intentionally left one bullet in the chamber to play the Russian Roulette game.
