Top Justice Ministry official moved to PM’s Office to help with reform work

Justice Ministry permanent secretary Chanchao Chaiyanukij has been transferred to a post as a special inspector at the Prime Minister’s Office, Justice Minister Suwaphan Tanyuvardhana said on Tuesday.

Suwaphan said Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Krea-ngam had been in talks with Chanchao and he welcomed the reshuffle, which the Cabinet approved at its weekly meeting.
Suwaphan explained that the Justice Ministry had been working with the PM’s Office on some critical reforms, including the police, and it wished to have someone to directly help the work at the PM’s Office.
Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has also recently set up a new committee to push forward reform work in regard to justice, education and the police, as addressed under the new charter, and wished to see Chanchao assist the panel’s work, he added.
