CCTV camera picks up possible suspect in hospital bombing
A CCTV surveillance camera at Phramongkutklao Hospital spotted a man carrying a plastic bag into the building where an explosion occurred on Monday (May22), a police source said on Friday.
The source said an investigator studying the CCTV feed from the front of the Chalermphrakiart Building noticed the possible suspect entering and leaving the building just before the blast. He emerged without the bag but instead carried what appeared to be a black umbrella.
The bomb detonated in the VIP Wongsuwan reception room inside the building, injuring 25 people, most of them retired military officers waiting to see doctors.
The source said the investigating team had yet to hear from bomb experts as to when the timed device was planted, so they cannot yet compare the time when the suspect was in the building.
