Ichitan investing Bt800m in Thai plant’s capacity expansion

Listed beverage company Ichitan Group has set aside an investment budget of Bt800 million with a view to boosting its revenue to Bt6.5 billion this year, chief executive officer Tan Passakornnatee said at the “Opportunity Day” seminar on Monday.

The Bt800 million will be used to increase production capacity by 300 million bottles a year.
This will enable Ichitan to increase total revenue to Bt6.5 billion, from last year’s level of Bt5.26 billion.
Meanwhile, the company’s investment in Indonesia continues to show a net loss, Tan said.
A Bt95-million net loss was made last year, and a similar figure is expected for this year, he acknowledged.
However, the company is confident that the Indonesian operation will show a net profit in 2019, he said.
Ichitan will then invest up to Bt1.5 billion in 2019 to increase its production capacity at the plant to 400 million bottles a year, the CEO added.
