Red Line foreman to be charged after tool fell on passing motorist

Red Line foreman to be charged after tool fell on passing motorist

Thung Song Hong police will summon the foreman overseeing construction of the Bang Khen Station of the Red Line Bang Sue-Rangsit elevated railway to face a charge following a worksite accident on Monday.

A metal plastering tool fell on to the windshield of a car that was passing under the station opposite Kasetsart University. Thanakrit Thanomkiart, the driver, narrowly escaped injury.
Thanakrit filed a complaint at Thung Song Hong Police Station on Monday, shortly after the accident in the morning.
Thung Song Hong police commander Colonel Mana Pohchuay said the foreman would be charged with violating Article 389 of the Criminal Code by being reckless and causing a dangerous object to fall on someone.
Mana said if the affected person and Italian-Thai Development Plc, the developer of the project, reached an agreement on compensation, the foreman would be fined and the matter would not proceed to court.
He added that he would send a letter to the construction’s contractor, telling it to be more careful on the project along Kamphaeng Phet 6 Road because many motorists used the road.
